## Tips most planners don't tell you
- **Book 12-18 months out** for May, June, September, October (peak season).
- **Hurricane season** = June through November. Maui and Big Island leeward sides are statistically less affected. Build a backup indoor option in.
- **Marriage license** must be obtained on-island, by both parties in person, at a county-approved agent. $65 + a $5 commission. Valid 30 days.
- **Vendors travel between islands** but charge inter-island fees. Save 10-20% by booking vendors local to your venue's island.
- **Sunset matters more than time of year.** December weddings get earlier sunsets (5:50pm) — your ceremony's "magic hour" lighting shifts.
