Maui Events This Month — What's Worth Your Time

AlohaCalendar|May 21, 2026
Maui isn't just beaches and luaus. The local event calendar — once you know where to look — runs from Friday-night farmers' markets in Makawao to slack-key concerts at the MACC, weekly Hula shows in Ka'anapali, and one-night-only chef pop-ups in Pa'ia. ## What's on Maui right now Live list, updated daily: all Maui events. Filter by weekend at this weekend on Maui, or free-only at free Maui events. ## Reliable monthly fixtures ### Friday — Pa'ia Friday Town Party First Friday of each month. The town center turns into a street party with food trucks, local musicians, and the kind of people-watching that's worth the drive. ### Saturday morning — Upcountry Farmers Market 7am, Kula. Highest-elevation market on Maui, best produce. Show up by 8 or the heirloom tomatoes are gone. ### Wednesday — Maui Brewing Co. trivia Kihei. Local hangout, dollar-pizza Tuesdays. Reservations recommended for trivia night. ### Multiple nights — MACC concerts Maui Arts & Cultural Center programs jazz, slack-key, world music, and Hawaiian legends. Cheap seats are still good seats. ## Seasonal calls - **Whale season** (Dec-Apr): see our humpback guide for the best watching spots - **Summer farmers markets** ramp up across the upcountry - **Aloha Festivals** in fall — Maui's parade route is more low-key than Oahu's, way more local ## Trip-planning move If you're visiting Maui, hit Visiting Hawaii, plug your trip dates + Maui, and get every approved event in your window. Saves an hour of Googling. ## What I'd skip "Traditional luau" experiences that are actually $200/head dinner shows produced by chains. There are real ones — usually word-of-mouth from your AirBnB host — but the ads are mostly the chains. Subscribe to our weekly Maui digest and we'll tell you when a real one runs. --- Browse this week on Maui.
