Triple Crown of Surfing 2026: Hawaii's Big-Wave Showdown
AlohaCalendar Editorial|May 23, 2026
The **Vans Triple Crown of Surfing** is the world's most-watched surf series, held every winter on Oʻahu's North Shore — the 10-mile stretch that produces the biggest paddleable waves on Earth.
## The three events
| # | Event | Beach | Window |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | **Hawaiian Pro** | Haleʻiwa Aliʻi Beach | Nov 12–23, 2026 |
| 2 | **Vans World Cup** | Sunset Beach | Nov 25 – Dec 6, 2026 |
| 3 | **Pipe Masters** | Banzai Pipeline (ʻEhukai Beach) | Dec 8–20, 2026 |
The 12-day "windows" mean officials call competition only when the swell is right — could be any day in the window, with 24–48 hr notice.
## How to watch
- **Free** from the sand. Park early (Pipeline parking fills by 6 AM on contest days).
- Bring a beach chair, sunscreen, water — judging towers + tents are along the beach.
- WSL livestream at [worldsurfleague.com](https://www.worldsurfleague.com) shows the action with commentary.
## Pipeline is the show
Pipe Masters is the title fight. The wave breaks 50 yards from shore, with a 12-foot face hollow enough to drive a truck through. The world's best surfers will pull into 8-second tube rides 30 feet in front of you.
## Drive carefully
Kamehameha Highway is a two-lane road. Contest mornings, traffic is brutal. Leave Honolulu by 5 AM for a 7 AM call, or stay on the North Shore for the duration.
