July 4th in Hawaiʻi is the only fireworks show on the islands where the show is actually approved — most other days, fireworks are illegal. Add a luau on Friday, beach BBQs Saturday, and the Ala Moana fireworks Sunday and you have a real American weekend, Hawaiian style.
