20-30 minute climb. Two WWII bunkers with stunning views of the Mokulua Islands. Sunrise crowd starts at 4:30 AM.

Two miles of beach + Kalākaua Avenue from Hilton Hawaiian Village to Diamond Head. Free street performers + hula at the bandstand most evenings.

Free Saturday farmer's market, free concerts at the bandstand, kite-flying, jogging, family picnics. The community living room of Honolulu.

Mānoa Falls Hike
1.6-mile round-trip through rainforest to a 150-ft waterfall. Filming location for Jurassic Park. $5 parking, hike is free.
Morning before the rain. Don't go after heavy rainfall — flash floods.
Watch Pipeline (winter)
Stand on the sand at ʻEhukai Beach Park and watch the world's best surfers ride 30-ft waves at the Banzai Pipeline. Free, no tickets.

Wailea Beach Path
1.5-mile paved oceanside path connecting 5 public beaches. Free, lit at night, hotel restaurants along the way.
Sunset is peak — January–March add whale spouts
Hoʻokipa Beach — Windsurf Watching
The world's windsurfing capital. Stand on the bluff and watch kite-surfers 20 feet in the air. Sea turtles haul out at sunset.
Afternoon trade-wind hours (11 AM–4 PM)
ʻĪao Valley
Sacred Hawaiian valley with the dramatic ʻĪao Needle rising from rainforest floor. Short paved walking path. State park — $5 vehicle but free to walk in.

Aliʻi Drive Sunset Stroll
Half-mile waterfront walk in downtown Kona. Free hula at Kona Inn Restaurant some evenings. The dryest sunset in Hawaiʻi.

Kahaluʻu Beach Snorkel
Honu (turtles) come right up to swimmers. Free, lifeguarded, gear rental nearby. Beginner-friendly reef.
Calm-water mornings
Hilo Farmers Market
The largest farmers market in Hawaiʻi — 100+ vendors. Free to walk through. Bring cash, exotic fruit, plate lunch.

Rainbow Falls (Hilo)
5-minute drive from downtown Hilo. 80-ft waterfall, rainbows form in the morning mist. Paved viewing platform, wheelchair-friendly.
8–10 AM for the rainbow
Liliʻuokalani Gardens
Largest Japanese garden outside Japan. Free, open dawn-dusk. Bayfront views + the famous Coconut Island bridge.
Sunrise or sunset
Hanalei Saturday Farmers Market
North-shore Kauaʻi local market. Tropical fruit, lei makers, breakfast plates. Free, community feel.
Saturday 9 AM–noon
Poʻipū Beach Monk Seals
Hawaiian monk seals (endangered, ~1,500 left) regularly haul out to nap on the beach. Volunteers cordon them off. Free, family-friendly.
Any afternoon, ~50% chance of seeing one
Wailua Falls
Drive-up access to a 173-ft double-drop waterfall. Used in the opening of the show Fantasy Island.
